Control in Youth Life

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

How to live our youth life?

Compare with Apostle Paul’s age, Timothy is very young. So, Paul gives advice to Timothy on how to live a better and role model life in front of other believers. When we are as youth, the world always attracts us in its way. When devil tempted Jesus, just before he starts His ministry, he said,

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. Luke 4:6

From this verse we can know clearly, this world is given to devil and controlled by him and all the attractive things belong to him.

So, we shouldn’t be fallen by his worldly things, whatever temptation he brings in front of us.

To protect ourselves from this world and be a role model in front of the believers, Paul gives 6 points to Timothy to carefully look into.

  • In our words

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29

Death and life  are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

  • In our conversation

Folly  is joy to  him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly. Proverbs 15:21

  • In charity

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, Ephesians 4:1

With all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; Ephesians 4:2

Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:3

  • In spirit

Blessed  is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit  there is no guile. Psalms 32:2

but to this  man will I look,  even to  him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word. Isaiah 66:2

  • In faith

But without faith  it is impossible to please  him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and  that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

  • In purity

Be purity in all our actions. As Paul sees Chorinthinas as chaste virgin to Christ.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present  you as a chaste virgin to Christ. 2 corinthians 11:2
